Welcome to my 1st Blog

TO OUR VETERINARY HEALTH CENTER FAMILY:

We have to creep before we crawl, crawl before we walk and walk before we run. The last ten weeks have been a whirlwind but your support has allowed us to firmly plant our feet on the ground of a passion that we are so very proud to share with you…the love of animals.

In 2012 we joined forces to give stray and homeless animals a voice. Together we witnessed a Facebook page called “Friends to S.A.V.E. the Animal Shelter of Saginaw County” bring public awareness to the plight of shelter animals. We felt the power of a community united by a shared passion and we bore witness to the fact that unity does affect change.

Our first annual Season of Sharing was a huge success. We were overwhelmed by the selfless generosity that allowed us to collect nearly $10,000 for the homeless people and animals in Saginaw County. An amazing accomplishment considering it was all done in less than 4 weeks.

We delivered a $500 check and nearly $4,000 of food, clothing, toys and personal hygiene products to the City Rescue Mission. And you didn’t stop there. We collected over 1 ton of pet food, hundreds of pounds of cat litter, endless boxes and bags of pet treats, pet toys, cat and dog beds and cleaning products for Saginaw’s homeless pets. You also sponsored over 35 sneuters (spays and neuters) for cats and dogs at Leggo’s Animal Haven…all in a less than healthy economy.

As we continue to evolve and build VHC, we will do so with your pets’ health, safety and welfare as our number one priority. We will strive to provide you with the highest quality and most compassionate care available in Saginaw County. Please share your thoughts, you expectations and your visions with us. Let us know what we can do to make VHC the greatest of the great. Tell us what we did right and, please, tell us what we did wrong.

As we look forward to taking our first steps on solid ground, we also look forward to continuing our partnership with our followers to strengthen the voice of Saginaw’s stray and homeless animals. We will continue to share their stories, their struggles and their triumphs. We will share our personal experiences from good days and not so good days. We would like you to know who we are, what we stand for, and why our passion is fueled by four paws, wet kisses, barks, and meows.

Follow Veterinary Health Center and our sister page Friends to S.A.V.E. the Animal Shelter of Saginaw County on Facebook. Share our passion with your friends and tell us what is important to you and your four-legged family members. Together we will make a difference…four paws at a time.
